Lassen County is an outdoor person's paradise. Eagle Lake is one of the county's most popular destinations. Other streams and lakes for fine fishing are abundant in the Lassen County area.
You can hike to the top of Lassen Peak, a volcano that still blows steam daily located in Lassen Volcanic National Park. There are numerous hiking trails all over Mount Lassen and the Lassen National Forest.
As for the local activities the Lassen County Rodeo at the Lassen County Fairgrounds in Susanville is always a favorite. Susanville has wonderful murals, a museum and an old fashioned County Fair which is the first week in July. Susan's Birthday celebration takes place in June and features crafts, sidewalk sale and a chocolate fest. The annual Airfair is a day of adventure. The Rails-to-Trails fest takes place in October.
Westwood has a rich logging history and every spring the Paul Bunyan Festival celebrates the talents of the local lumberjacks and jills followed by a Blues Festival.
Doyle, located in South County, is host to the famous Lizard Races and the celebration that accompanies it.
